Earths flowers – Celebrations
My artwork depicts how our minds and the earth's flowers run hand in hand, both having many growth traits. Sometimes we feel like all is wrong. Yet we CAN change that.
Like a flower, we can wilt, our minds go blank, and we feel like we have suppressed ourselves and can no longer go on. But we recover.
When we start off young our minds are youthful and inexperienced. Over time, we develop the traits we need to become who we are. Every process of life does this, we are all linked in the same way. When some thing drags us down it can become a challenge to respire, to breathe. The people around us are like our sunlight, they support us when we believe all is over.
Flowers have been used several times in the Bible to give meanings to human actions. Flowers are created by the Lord to grow and nurture. Lilies was symbolic to the Bible, so I drew one in amongst the rest of the flowers in my work. They represented hope, just as the resurrection does in Christianity. Some believe that it was white lilies that arose and sprouted in the garden of Eden as Eve's regretful tears fell to the ground.
An important quote I link with my sketch is by the poet E.V Regina stating that “like wildflowers you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would”. and I think we should live by that. Life is not about being the prettiest flower in the meadow but making the most of what you have and being the best you can be, not what others expect from you if we personally believe we can do something then we can. Are minds grow like the flowers too.
I may not be the “greatest” yet my intellect is beautiful like a flower.
