Making a Difference in the World – We Have Far More in Common

The children of Swinford Primary school have been busy creating a very large piece of whole school Artwork for Spirited Arts 2022, based on the Jo Cox quotation ‘We have far more in common with each other, than that which divides us’. There has been a lot of discussion around things which make us different from each other and whether these differences are good reasons not to get on. We have also found from creating the artwork that we do indeed have more in common than not. The children created water colour resist backgrounds to represent their personalities. They then completed a questionnaire, providing answers which were personal to them. We compared many of the answers and found that we had much more in common that we first thought. Especially our love of all things Pizza! More importantly the children had very similar feelings about how we could make a difference to the world.

This amazing piece of artwork is several meters tall by 2 meters wide and so is far too large to send, however I do hope that you get a good idea of how hard the children have worked, and how fabulous they are.
